The ASAM Annual Advocacy Conference was held in Washington DC on Monday and Tuesday, September 23 and 24. The event was attended by NNESAM members Dr. Audrey Kern, Region 3 Councilor, Dr. Kimberly Blake (UVM), Dr. James Berry (Past President), Dr. Michael Eng (President-Elect), and Dr. Fred Lord (President).
On Tuesday, they visited with congressional delegations from all three states to advocate for ASAM positions on the TREATS Act (making revised rules on telehealth permanent), MOTAA (modernizing methadone treatment), and the Residential Recovery for Seniors Act (providing Medicare coverage for residential substance treatment).
